It’s not every day that one plans to be in the water fully dressed, Foot Splasher or Seasoned Swimmer. Today’s topic covers just that scenario. What to do when you find yourself fully clothed in the middle of some lake or ocean with help being nowhere in sight. As it turns out, being fully clothed can be quite advantageous (especially in colder environments!).
To create an inflatable device with your long sleeve shirt while in the water follow these 5 simple steps:
1st: Relax and Stay Calm–if you find this hard to do, humming your favorite song might help (I like Dory’s from Find Nemo’s “Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming“) ✅
2nd: Open Collar ✅
3rd: Tuck Chin to Chest ✅
4th: Blow and Blow some more–no worries if you find yourself submerged at this point because your shirt will inflate and bring you up to the surface. ✅
5th: Sit back, Relax, & Enjoy your Journey until help arrives, repeating steps 1-4 when necessary to re-inflate shirt ☺️
So there you have it. How to use your shirt as an inflatable device in an emergency situation. Might go great as a pool party trick 🎊
